SBI Card has partnered with PhonePe to launch two co-branded credit cards: SBI PhonePe Purple and SBI PhonePe SELECT BLACK. The SELECT BLACK is the premium option, offering up to 10% rewards on select PhonePe transactions including recharges, bill payments, insurance, travel, and orders on the PINCODE app. Other eligible online spends earn 5% rewards, while offline purchases and Scan & Pay transactions get a base 1% reward, all redeemable at a 1:1 value for cash or vouchers. Additional perks include complimentary domestic lounge visits, a welcome voucher covering the joining fee, and milestone rewards such as a Rs. 5,000 Yatra voucher and an annual fee waiver.
In comparison, HDFC Bank also provides PhonePe co-branded cards, with the PhonePe HDFC Ultimo as its premium variant. Both cards offer similar reward structures, but Ultimo’s 5% cashback is limited to select online merchants like Myntra, Swiggy, Zomato, Amazon, Ajio, Flipkart, and Uber. SBI SELECT BLACK, on the other hand, allows broader 5% rewards without merchant restrictions. While HDFC Ultimo provides more domestic lounge visits, these are tied to spending conditions and it lacks milestone bonuses aside from the annual fee waiver.

Rewards Program – PhonePe SELECT BLACK SBI Card
- 10X Points: Earn 10 points for every Rs. 100 spent on select PhonePe transactions such as recharges, bill payments, insurance, travel, utilities, and PhonePe PINCODE orders.
- 5X Points: Earn 5 points for every Rs. 100 spent on other online transactions.
- 1X Point: Earn 1 point per Rs. 100 on all other transactions, including utilities and insurance payments made outside PhonePe and Scan & Pay transactions.
- Monthly Limits: Maximum 2,000 points per month for each reward tier (1X, 5X, 10X), except for utilities and insurance payments outside PhonePe, which are capped at 500 points per month.
- Redemption: Each point is equivalent to Rs. 1 and can be redeemed for vouchers or cashback.
